Born in 1997 in Beirut, Mara Ingea works on the border between installation, object design, and performance. She draws inspiration from reality to reinterpret it, focusing on the more-than-human to question the place of beings with whom we coexist and rethink the spaces in which we live. Her multi-disciplinary work treats the political through the poetical, the environmental along with the experimental, and the social in relation to the spatial. Holder of a bachelor’s degree in graphic arts and animation from the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA) and a master’s degree in directing of devised and object theater from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU), she is currently based between Lebanon and Europe where she works with international artistic teams as director, performer, and set and costume designer. Her installation Puzzles was awarded Best Student Exhibition at the Prague Quadrennial 2023.
